B. Based on output voltage

1. Step up transformer
It provides more output voltage by increasing the input voltage. There are more coils wrapped on the secondary winding than the primary winding. It is used in stabilizers, inverters etc. It is used in power plant to connect with grid

2. step-down transformer
Under this, the input voltage is reduced to give a lower output voltage. It is powered by DC supply, is used in many devices because it converts AC to DC and supplies DC electricity to electrical machines, which is why most people use it.

C. Depending on the number of electrical phase

1.Single Phase Transformer
This transformer is a transformer operating on AC supply, in which the voltage of single phase can be reduced or increased. It has two windings, primary and secondary windings.

Single phase power supply is done in primary winding and in second winding, single phase electrical supply is done as step down or step up.

2. Three Phase Transformer

1. Air Core Transformer
